Venue: St Mary's Church map Address: Church Lane, Twyford, Hampshire, SO21 1NS Event: Kind of Blue Live - CANCELLED - 7pm - Hear Miles Davis' iconic 'Kind of Blue' album recreated live on stage at the beautiful setting of St Mary's Church in Twyford in Hampshire. On April 22nd 1959 at Columbia’s 30th street studio in New York City, Miles Davis completed his iconic album ‘Kind of Blue’ The album features Davis’s ensemble sextet consisting of saxophonists John Coltrane and Julian “Cannonball” Adderley, pianist Bill Evans, bassist Paul Chambers, and drummer Jimmy Cobb, with Wynton Kelly appearing on the track ‘Freddie Freeloader’. The album was released on August 17th 1959 and sixty years on is still one of the most successful jazz albums of all time.
