As the British Empire wages war in the name of a Queen whose health is failing, a series of mysterious events reveals a crack in the high corridors of power. Drawn into the game and unsure who to trust, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson find themselves confronting figures from their past in a desperate race against time, aware that the most powerful person in the world could be in the pocket of one of the most corrupt. But just how much is Holmes willing to sacrifice as he faces 'checkmate'? A thrilling adventure based on the work of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes: The Hunt for Moriarty is a world premiere combining powerful performances, a haunting soundscape and innovative design for an exhilarating theatrical experience. Venue: Theatre Royal map ![]() Address: Jewry Street, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 8SB Telephone: Box office: 01962 840440 Event: Ardal O'Hanlon: Not Himself - 7.30pm - After an alarming experience at the supermarket, Ardal reflects on who he is as a man and a comedian. He examines his own ethnic and religious background. And thinks twice about the very core of his identity as a voice of reason. Is everything a big lie? With no major trauma of his own to draw on for material, apart from the drag of getting older, he also turns his gaze outwards at the joys and follies of contemporary life. Towel Animals? A.I.? Chair Yoga? Cauliflower as a main course? Yes. Yes. Yes. And Yes. No current idiocy is left un-examined. With a highly developed sense of the ridiculous, and proper comedy bones, Not Himself, is a testament to the healing power of humour. And the joy of jokes. Or use a more conventional form of transport to get to the show. It's entirely your choice. Unless you accidentally become trapped in a barrel*. Should that happen, then just find an incline and start rolling to see the one and only Ross Noble! He is the Wizard of Waffle, The Rambler Royale, The Noodlers' Noodler, and he's back live on stage to tour a tornado of tangents. What the show will be about is anybody's guess, but that's all part of the fun when you look inside his Cranium of Curiosities. *We strongly advise trying not to get trapped in a barrel before or during the performance. Despite the expression "barrel of laughs", it may impede your enjoyment of the show. Venue's website: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk Venue's Facebook: facebook.com/TRWinchester ![]() |
