Cecily O'Neill, the writer, said: "Food is always cropping up in Austen's work and correspondence. Mrs Bennet uses it to impress her social circle, Emma administers soft-boiled eggs to her father, and a betrayed Marianne Dashwood refuses it all together. It was clearly both a pleasure for her and a way in which she could subtly and wittily indicate both status and character in her books."

Or that time he stood for the Scottish National Party, fought a hard campaign, but in the end had to respect the wishes of the people of Cardiff. A whole new show of daftness. You know it makes sense. WARNING *contains jokes from the start.
