Spitfire Girls is inspired by the extraordinary true stories of the women who dared to fly during WWII and the incredible bond that tied them together. Funny and heart-warming, this is an untold story of strength, courage and loss. But above all else, hope. Spitfire Girls was developed with the support of the National Theatre's Generate programme. This production contains themes of war.

Further studies at the School of Early Music in Venice and Giulio Regondi’s Academy in Milan shaped his artistic focus, grounding him in the rich heritage of classical and early music traditions.

Riding high above a sea of imitators, The Blue Water Giants are the real deal: a powerhouse super-band made up of the very musicians who originally helped shape the sound of classic rock and AOR across decades. Their repertoire isn’t nostalgia — it’s legacy, performed by the artists who lived it, breathed it, and made it legendary. Commanding the helm is Josh Phillips, famed organist of Procol Harum. Holding the groove is Status Quo’s John “Rhino” Edwards, with guitar firepower from Freddie Edwards and Neil Taylor—the latter known for his iconic work with Tears for Fears and Robbie Williams. Event:  Whitchurch Folk Club: Sam Baxter & Merle Harbron plus Helen Gentile & Lewis Wood - 7.30pm - Sam Baxter and Merle Harbron are an Anglo/Scottish duo creating dynamic, full-bodied arrangements of contemporary and traditional music. Using fiddle, drones and voice, the pair build vibrant musical landscapes, weaving together melodic lines inspired and improvised from traditional songs and dance music. Helen Gentile & Lewis Wood (Threepenny Bit and Granny’s Attic respectively), perform an evocative set of tunes from the balfolk canon on clarinet and fiddle. The duo combines the talent of two musicians who are firmly embedded into the folk music community in England. Their material comprises traditional, contemporary and original European folk dance music, with loose, ever-evolving arrangements creating space for improvisation and showcasing the interplay between the instruments.
