Venue: The Lights map Address: West Street, Andover, Hampshire, SP10 1AH Telephone: Box office: 01264 368368 Event: Simon Evans is Staring at the Sun - 8pm - Simon Evans is Back! Waaaay back… With growing evidence that we are living in a Computer Simulation – and a pretty glitchy, off-brand simulation at that – and the approaching watershed of the AI Singularity looming like a weirdly pixelated cumulo-nimbus on the horizon, BBC Radio 4 stalwart and veteran of a quarter century of highly acclaimed stand-up comedy Simon Evans is squinting at an uncertain future, and revisiting the blue remembered hills of his youth. Thursday 05 February 2026
Venue: The Arc map Address: Jewry Street, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 8SB Telephone: 01962 398046 Event: Kevin Precious: The Reluctant Teacher - 7.30pm - Determined to get a “Grown Up Career” after years spent as a musician, Kevin trained as a Religious Studies Teacher, despite being an affirmed sceptic and non-believer. Whilst wrangling with disinterested kids in various Secondary Schools in Sussex during the day, Kevin increasingly pursued the business of stand-up comedy at night… inevitably something had to give. The show is a funny overview of the pitfalls and pratfalls that go with Kevin’s former profession of teaching; with a bit of pedagogical stuff (ooh-er) thrown in for good measure. FRIDAY 20 MARCH 2026
OTHELLO
Venue: The Nutshell
7.30pm
In a world that punishes vulnerability and devours beauty, Discarded Nut rips into Shakespeare’s most devastating tragedy, exposing razor-sharp insights on toxic power, race, and human fallibility. Visually arresting, brutally honest, and emotionally explosive, Othello is a fearless exploration of what happens when we’re driven to the edge. DNTCo. is a Winchester-based professional theatre company known for trailblazing performances that champion emerging talent and DNYT alumni, with a fearless approach to classic texts that is both theatrically compelling and educationally enriching. By bringing these stories to life in ways that are relevant and exciting, we create work that resonates deeply with today’s audiences and underscores the enduring importance of storytelling and live theatre for all.
