Venue: Winchester Auto Barn map Address: Sutton Scotney, Winchester, Hampshire, SO21 3NS Event: Simply Dan - 7pm - Simply Dan are a UK Steely Dan tribute band, created by like-minded musicians who wanted to authentically present the kaleidoscopic sounds of Steely Dan. The 11 piece band focus on producing the complex harmonies and intricate rhythms of Donald Fagen and his band. Founded in 2016 by Mark Roadnight (lead singer, guitar), Roger Evan (keys), Mark Claydon (drums) and featuring Darren Spicer (guitar) and David McLeod (bass), the players are all experienced world class musicians who have toured, gigged and written songs all over the world. Together, they have a penchant for playing Steely Dan covers, challenging themselves by staying faithful to the original recordings whilst also firmly putting their own stamp on the material. Simply Dan use a 4 piece horn section to add to the already rich harmonies and sound. Along with two soulful backing vocalists, this Steely Dan tribute band aim to do justice to one of the world’s most interesting and challenging groups ever recorded. Selecting from the entire back catalogue of songs from the early days with Walter Becker through to later influences of Larry Carlton and Steve Gadd, Simply Dan aim to thrill you with an accurate and authentic rendition of their classics!
