Event: Black Is The Color Of My Voice - 7.30pm - Inspired by the life of Nina Simone, and featuring many of her most iconic songs performed live. Apphia Campbell's acclaimed play follows a successful singer and civil rights activist as she seeks redemption after the untimely death of her father. She reflects on the journey that took her from a young piano prodigy destined for a life in the service of the church, to a renowned jazz vocalist at the forefront of the Civil Rights Movement. The show has played nationally and internationally to standing ovations from Shanghai and New York to Edinburgh and the West End of London. It recently toured Australia and won the Best Theatre Award at Adelaide Fringe 2024.

Event: The Merry Wives of Windsor from The Pantaloons - 7.30pm - Sir John Falstaff, everyone's favourite Shakespearean sleazeball, has fallen on hard times. In order to fix his finances he plans to seduce the wives of two wealthy merchants. But, wise to his wily ways, the ladies take the opportunity to punish Falstaff by playing a series of hilarious tricks on the nincompoop knight. Expect silly slapstick, abundant anachronisms and memorable music nestled amongst Shakespeare’s poignant poetry as the critically-acclaimed Pantaloons put their own innovative and interactive spin on this classic comedy.

They were wearing their name tags from work, took selfies with the stolen cash, and their getaway plan was… flawed. Did we mention this is a true story? In court, their only defence was Pleading Stupidity. Now, they're out of prison, and we've brought them* to Winchester with the bank tellers they robbed that day**. They're here to bring you the true story*** of two ripper Australian legends and their crazy adventures in Colorado. They just have to agree on how to tell it… After a hugely successful run at The Pleasance at 2023's Edinburgh Fringe, Maybe You Like It are bringing Pleading Stupidity to Theatre Royal Winchester for one night only.
