Harry Rylances UK passport is running out of pages. The 21-year-old has studied and performed in countries as far afield as Korea, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Hungary, Germany, France and the USA. His resume includes an acclaimed performance of Rachmaninoffs 2nd Piano Concerto with the Boston Civic Symphony Orchestra and a live recital of Scriabin on “From The Top,” Americas nationwide classical music radio programme. Other highlights of his still-fledgling career include several sold-out concerts as soloist with the renowned Liszt Chamber Orchestra during its tour of Asia, and a performance of Mozart in the iconic Grand Hall of Budapest. Rylance studies at The Royal Academy of Music under Head of Piano, Prof. Joanna MacGregor. He has also been tutored in Budapest by the late great Hungarian maestro, Zoltan Kocsis. He will perform a programme of Bach, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev and Messiaen at the lunchtime concert. (Harry Rylance performs at Winchester Cathedral, 1pm Tuesday, August 14th. Winchester City Festival Choir: A European Christmas

An evening of beautiful Christmas music in the heart of Winchester. Having spent the summer on the road with the London German Choir, Winchester City Festival Choir is back home but keeping its European theme alive for their Christmas concert! They will be using in Christmas with a selection of European classics including Saint Saën’s Christmas Oratorio and carols from Sweden, Ukraine, Germany and Italy. Choir Director Barbara Höfling says this medley of carols will beautifully complement the Christmas Oratorio: "This is a Christmas staple on the continent but little known here – it’s a beautiful piece to get us ready for Christmas." Tickets £20 to include a festive drink.
