Saturday 01 June 2013 -- EVENT HAS PASSED
Venue: The Worthies Club map Address: Lovedon Lane, Kings Worthy, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 7NJ Telephone: 01962 880457 Event: Rock Doctors - The Rock Doctors website: www.therockdoctorsband.co.uk. Visit the club's website at www.thewssc.co.uk for more information. Unless otherwise indicated, admission is free for Club Members, For non-Members, there is an admission charge of £1 for discos and £2 for all other events. 1st - Rock Doctors / Band 'BALLS TO THE WALLS NO NONSENSE ROCK' is what this band is about. It's full speed ahead from start to finish and when you do eventually come up for air you'll know that you've been to a Docs gig! Formed in 1988 'The Docs' have been around the block a bit - At the start they set out to do gritty Dr Feelgood type stuff, the hard edge punky feel being a preference for singer/guitarist Tony. AC/DC, The Cult, ZZ Top, Purple, as well as some more traditional blues orientated tracks all get in the set nowadays, so it's a bit of a mix. Yes, it can get a bit loud but they've got some good gear so it's a good quality ear ache! They are renowned for their sound quality so don't be scared off. If you're into playing 'air guitar' then look no further - top notch guitar playing is their forte!. |
