Winchester Folk Club opened its doors in the Attic of The Railway in May 2010, its first night playing host to none other than Martin Simpson. The club presents top national and international acts from the world of folk music. In its short history it has boasted an impressive list of guest artists, including Jim Moray, Lau, Martin Carthy and Chris Wood. The aim is to put on a varied billing of shows which hosts established names, alongside introducing exciting new and up-and-coming acts. The monthly singarounds at the Hyde Tavern are free, informal evenings where everyone gets together for a drink, and to sing a song or play a piece of music.
