Visitors are always welcome to come along and, as they do not operate a membership scheme, there is no need to book in advance. Their venue is The Winchester Club in Worthy Lane, Winchester - not far from the railway station - and ample free parking is available. Their concerts commence at 7.30pm and finish at around 10.00 p.m., with an interval of 30 minutes for refreshments and a raffle in aid of club funds. A proper sit down show with tables, chairs and candles – not forgetting the raffle of treasures donated by the artists. It is held at The Attic Bar atop The Railway in Winchester. The show starts promptly at 8pm and finishes close to three hours later at 11pm. Tickets are modestly priced at £7 and can be bought on the door or in advance. Nick Tann will be performing as an artist as well as compering the show. He will be fresh from recording his new album and sporting a quite amazing new haircut! Singer/songwriter/compere and all round good egg, he will be performing songs from his brand new album as well trying out a few new ideas from his summer festival set. Making his debut at ITTOP is the brilliant The LCD. Singer/Songwriter/rapper/poet and gentleman Chris will be performing tunes that have made him a firm favourite on the Is This Thing on Is This Thing On? Podcast. The ever-fragrant Lucy Kitchen is making a very welcome return to Winchester. A self-confessed "folky bird", Lucy will be performing songs from her imminent album release and may even have a few copies. Someone has to come last and this month that rare honour falls to Gary Nicholson the singer of hilarious comedy songs and Winchester hall of fame member (if there was one, he would be in it. probably). A charity dedicated to easing the plight of asylum seekers has joined forces with one of Winchester's leading choirs to stage a fundraising concert with a regal theme. Southern Voices will be exploring four centuries of music composed for royal occasions at St Michael's Church in Winchester in aid of Southampton and Winchester Visitors Group (SWVG). All proceeds will support the charity's work with asylum seekers and refugees. Conducted by Katherine Dienes-Williams and accompanied by Paul Provost, sub-organist of Guildford Cathedral, the performance will include Handel's rousing anthem Zadok the Priest, William Walton's Te Deum, written for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, and music by John Rutter and Paul Mealor commissioned for the marriage of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in 2011. And if that wasn't enough, there will be refreshments as well included in the price of your ticket, a mere £12.50 for adults or £9.50 for students and those prepared to admit they have reached a 'certain' age. It's in a very good cause and will help Winchester Rotary honour its commitment to support the 'To Honour a Promise' Project (which a number of club members are involved in), and contribute towards a permanent memorial to these soldiers, many of whom never returned from Flanders' fields.
