Venue: Gill Nethercott Centre Address: Winchester Road, Whitchurch, Hampshire, RG28 7HP Event: Whitchurch Folk Club: The Askew Sisters - 19.30 - 22.45 - Emily and Hazel Askew have become known as two of the foremost performers and interpreters of English folk music. Their live performances brim with the depth and connection not only of two sisters, but also of two musicians who have been immersed in folk music all their lives. Together, they rework and reinterpret songs and balladry, creating breath-taking arrangements, which allow words that are hundreds of years old to resonate profoundly with contemporary audiences. Alongside this, both women are also skilled multi-instrumentalists and expert players of dance music, using fiddles, melodeons, concertina and cello in their innate drive to bring old dance music to life. |

Rich Lansley: A Hundred Small Things
Venue: Theatre Royal
8pm
A show for people who appreciate the small things in life Following the success from his previous solo shows - The Wait (2019), Leaves Waves Sky (2022) and The Ground The Sky (2024) Rich Lansley presents A Hundred Small Things. A comedy/theatre/spoken-word show celebrating the overlooked, the ordinary, and the tiny miracles hiding in plain sight. It's about zooming in on life's details. The mundane objects, fleeting moments, and quiet joys that hold unexpected depth. The show is a mix of humour, whimsy, and heartfelt reflection, aiming to turn the audience's perspective on the everyday into something extraordinary. "The goal here is to explore the small, quiet moments in modern life. To capture the magic in the mundane." Written to charm and sooth. Rich Lansley's words are calm but strong, like waves of an ocean just willing you to dip a little deeper. Described as "poetry of kindness", his performance is one of humour and heart exploring human nature and the world surrounding us. Rich has performed all over the country at festivals and shows and notably supported Harry Baker.
