A joyful seasonal concert for the evening of Tues 7th December at the United Church, Jewry Street, Winchester. Expect a wonderful unconventional selection of Christmas songs and carols from the Winchester Community Choir and their guests, fabulous folk musicians The New Scorpion Band. Formed in 2005, Winchester Community Choir has been delighting audiences at Christmas for the last 5 years with sell-out performances of their own particular brand of a cappella singing. An open access choir, they are led by folk singer, Sarah Morgan (Craig Morgan Robson) and have sung at various venues around the City and beyond. The New Scorpion Band is a professional acoustic group of 5 musicians, performing traditional music from England and Ireland. Members of the Band have played on film and TV scores including: Lord of the Rings, Gladiator, Gangs of New York and Father Ted amongst many others, and worked with The King Singers, The Sixteen, The Philharmonia, Kate Bush and Westlife. All proceeds from A Christmas Cracker will go to Friends of the Family and Live at Home Scheme
