Sir Edward Elgar's mighty oratorio presents a moving portrait in sound of Jesus's disciples and the life of the early church. Peter is made the focus of the work and musical highlights include the Pentecost scene, and Mary's sublime solo 'The sun goeth down'. This is a magnificent work with Elgar's typically beautiful and expansive orchestration and lyrical choral lines. We hope that you will find this work both thrilling and uplifting.
