Scott Matthews, born 15th Jan 1976 in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK, was raised in a very musical family. His father was a drummer and introduced Scott to such iconic artists as Marc Bolan, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan. Scott's first single "Elusive" was released in September 2006. The single received much airplay from BBC Radio DJs Jo Whiley, Dermot O'Leary, and Zane Lowe. Lowe played "Elusive" once each night as his chosen Single of the Week. Matthews also visited the station to perform "Elusive" and other songs from the album in May and August 2006. In May 2007, "Elusive" won the Ivor Novello Award for "Best Song Musically and Lyrically". The extensive media attention lead to a licensing deal with Universal Island Records, who were the releasing label for Scott's 2nd album "Elsewhere", which was released in May 2009 to critical acclaim. Scott has not only embarked on a number of sell-out headline tours, but has also been fortunate enough to tour with some of the world's most respected artists, including, Foo Fighters, Snow Patrol, Rufus Wainwright,Tori Amos and Robert Plant.
