Pedal Folk

Start time: 7pm

Pedal Folk website: www.pedalfolk.co.uk. Pedal Folk on Facebook: www.facebook.com/PedalFolk. By popular request, Pedal Folk are back. They will be running a strumming workshop from 7-8 then performing their mix of music and poems in the cellar. The charge is £10 for the workshop and performance or £8 for just the performance. Maximum of 30 tickets available. Pedal Folk is a musical collective who power their tours solely by bike, carrying their instruments with them as they go. Over the last three years they have played arts centres, folk clubs, festivals pubs, record shops and house concerts delighting audiences with a range of songs and tunes that reflect their journeying nature and love of folk music. Last year they undertook their greatest challenge to date, crossing the South of England from London to the Quantock Hills in Somerset following the route taken by the pre-war poet and prose writer Edward Thomas in his book "In Pursuit of Spring". This September they hit the road as a five-piece of guitar, violin, flute, ukulele and cello with multi-layered harmony vocals from Bristol to Steep in Hampshire to perform at a special concert for the Edward Thomas Fellowship. Expect rousing shanties, songs of the land and the people who live upon it, tunes that will lift your hearts and carry you homeward with a smile as well as the warmth of these friends and musicians who love to travel and perform together.
