Firmly established as one of the finest a capella vocal groups, the Tallis Scholars present some of the most significant music from their concerts over the last 40 years. All of it will work gloriously in the Cathedral Nave– the sort of space for which it was intended. Alongside English Tudor music by Tallis and Byrd sit Italian masterpieces: Palestrina’s peerless Missa Papae Marcelli and Allegri’s Miserere. They will also include more contemporary composers, with music by Eric Whitacre and Arvo Pärt.
