Following the triumphant appearance of the Hampshire County Youth Orchestra in 2011, the Festival is delighted to welcome back Hampshire’s young ambassadors for this year’s opening concert. Two British orchestral works offer rich opportunity for exciting depictions of the world and outer space. Britten’s evocative portrayal of the changing faces of the sea and Holst’s popular planetary journey are separated by a set of refreshing choral songs by Brahms.. .
