Threepenny Bit Summer Ceilidh 7:00pm Friday 30 May 2014 30/5/2014 - 7.30pm - interval at 9pm - £12, £14 on the door Threepenny Bit are a unique example of how traditional dance tunes and contemporary sounds can blend together into a totally fresh interpretation of folk music. This raucous 8-piece band combines a group of diehard folkies with some of the finest young jazz and classical musicians in the south to create an exciting live show you will not forget! After founding and running the Southampton University folk society in 2011, they formed a busking band to take folk music to the streets for a summer holiday. Three years, two albums and a host of successful concert, ceilidh, folk club and festival performances later the band are still going strong! 2013 saw the self release of their second album 'Cartography' which received great reviews and was nominated for the FATEA awards instrumental album of the year.
