On a stage surrounded by bookshelves Polly and the Billets Doux will be making more noise than ever heard in the library before. Polly and the Billets Doux have been dubbed a harmony blend of country, jazz, blues, folk and gospel by The Sunday Times, they are one of the UK s most exciting upcoming bands. Tickets required in advance. Tickets are free to library card holders and new joiners. £9.50 to non-library card holders - Winchester-based four-piece band who performed their first gig unamplified in the back room of a smoky venue in 2006, belting it out so the folks at the back could hear. Taking their influences from jazz greats like Billie Holiday, and adding a quintessentially English twist with divine harmonised vocals, they have been described as 'a sumptuous blend of jazz, blues, country, folk and gospel'.
