Winchester Festival: Rachmaninov Vespers Southern Voices make a welcome return to the Winchester Festival under the baton of their new musical director, Katherine Dienes-Williams. Rachmaninov's All-Night Vigil is an a capella composition viewed by many as the composer's finest achievement. The settings of texts from the Russian Orthodox evening service are profoundly evocative and deeply moving, revered for their rich textures and sumptuous scoring.
