Winchester Festival Opening Concert The Festival's traditional large-scale opening concert features one of the undoubted masterpieces of classical music, Bach's Mass in B Minor BWV 232. JS Bach's monumental setting of the Mass offers music of praise, mediation and sheer drama, which cannot leave any listener untouched. It is also the work that Bach Choir was founded to preform and they make a welcome return to the Festival with David Hill. Joined by four eminent soloist and Southern Sinfonia, the region's chamber orchestra, this will be another Festival opening to remember.
