The Mayor of Winchester's Charity Concert
Start time: 7.30pm
Band and Bugles of The Rifles reflects a long tradition of Rifles Music which goes back to The Rifles' former Regiments and their regimental history. The Rifles trace their roots back to the Peninsula War when its pioneering tactics relied heavily on messages being conveyed by bugle calls across the battlefield. Since then the bugle has become a symbol of the Rifleman and has remained at the heart of Riflemen's music ever since. The music to be played for the Mayor's charities will reflect a diverse programme from regimental and military music to more modern classics. The evening will be hosted by TV presenter, Alastair Stewart OBE. Tickets: £50, £25, £15 & £10 Certain Cathedral concerts are free - for others you can buy tickets online at www.winchester-cathedral.org.uk or contact the box office at boxoffice@winchester-cathedral.org.uk or 01962 857275.
