In 1994, when the CD Officium Novum was first released, the classical music world had known nothing like it in terms of sales and airplay. Since that time, the four voices of the Hilliard Ensemble and jazz saxophonist Jan Garbarek have continued to work together, letting the special sound they created evolve so that every performance offers something new. Officium Novum is their latest project, blending music of ancient simplicity with vibrant improvisation: voices and saxophone become as one with extraordinary magic. The performers will move around the Cathedral, making full use of the building's unique characteristics.
