Weyhill Fair Beer Festival: Jon Walsh Blues Band (midday) - supported by Brian Witts and Prior Engagement This year's Weyhill Fair Ber Festival takes place over the weekend of 29, 30 and 31 July. The Sunday afternoon music will feature a full set, starting at midday (going to 4pm ish - schedule TBC), by the JON WALSH BLUES BAND. The website for this event is www.freewebs.com/weyhillfair. The Jon Walsh Blues Band is a REAL blues band - not a blues-rock band, or a rock band disguised as a blues band. They play a wide variety of blues from the slide guitar of the Mississippi Delta to the boogies of Texas and the jazz blues of Chicago. They play many of their own songs, written by Jon, and also cover artists including Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Tampa Red, Freddie King, Albert King, BB King, Robert Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bobby Bland, John Lee Hooker and many more. The configuration of the band changes to fit the booking, from intimate solo sets with Jon, to the blistering blues of a trio or the full four-piece Jon Walsh Blues Band that rocks, boogies, stomps, howls, cries and weeps!Supported by: Brian Witts - a solo blues singer/guitarist performing classic and original blues songs. ... and... Prior Engagement - a 3pc outfit from Winchester/Southampton performing a Blues and Rory Gallagher tribute set.
