No less that THREE of the 12 bands on our list are local bands - Bury Tomorrow, The Lost Souls Club and Will and The People.

Updated Monday 28 November 2011 - Nick Findlay runs a free blues and classic rock jam session at the King Charles in Kings Worthy every first Monday of the month. PA, amps and drums are provided, just bring your own guitar or sticks and play with some of the region's best musicians, or just come to listen - many others do! Average age is around 40, but we also have some great younger players too; very relaxed atmosphere. The next date is 5 December.
Updated Friday 18 November 2011 - On 3 December, RUNNINGONAIR MUSIC will be holding a concert/film show of experimental music and video at the Hyde Tavern. This will be the first of what may become a regular event, so if you're in the area (or even if your not) please come along and show your support. This will be an evening of firsts, with new live sets from both Ekca Liena and Venona Pers as well as the premier screening of "Ecliptic Plane" by Joe Evans. Stonepig are a 5 piece rock covers band with energy, attitude and volume that have quickly become one of Andover's most popular nights out. Avoiding all rock cliche covers, they play a wide variety of highly original rock, punk and more rock. Updated Friday 22 July 2011 - This weekend is REPUBLIC IN THE CITY - it's a day of FREE music on Sunday 24 July between 11am and 4.30pm, showcasing the musical talents of local bands. Nine bands will be performing under St Maurice's Covert under the supervision of Ben Ward who has co-ordinated the group since its early days at Tower Arts Centre. If you are in town, please do go along and support them. The young people are really excited about the event. They organised an even bigger occasion during last year's Freefall Festival, and are keen to do more in future.
