Updated Wednesday 04 August 2010 - Pure Acoustica is the brainchild of Nick Tann, an experienced singer songwriter and accomplished guitarist. Pure Acoustica is an organisation that champions the playing of music without the use of microphones, PAs and amplifiers. Acoustic music gives the musician and performer freedom and control, with no distortion from a PA system and no worries about the balance being wrong. The idea first came to Nick when he was playing at a crowded Froggies in Winchester one evening - as the crowd noise increased, Nick had to raise the volume on the amp until eventually, convincing himself no-one was listening, he turned off the amp and started playing quietly to himself, which had the amazing affect to the audience who suddenly starting listening and applauding! The monthly Pure Acoustica events were held at the Dolphin until its closure in late 2009, but now has found new homes at The Southwestern in St Denys and the White Swan in Winchester. For more information, visit the main website at www.pureacoustica.com or join in on Facebook at www.facebook.com/pages/Nick-Tanns-Pure-Acoustica/120471047987893.

The next event will be on Wednesday 11 August at the White Swan in Winchester at 9pm. This event will also be broadcast live on ustream: www.nicktann.co.uk/pureacoustica/Livefeed.html
